I have number if remotes
Few Beolink 1000, Beolink 5000, Beolink 7000, and 2 Beo4.

I think BeoLink 5000 is a beauty. Combination of BeoLink 7000 and BeoLink 5000 is amazing duo.
7000 on the charger - serves kind of like a monitor/controller where and 5000 for more often commands such as volume track etc and always near me on the couch.
I treat these too as mechanical watches with grand complications. They look and feel respectful.
Buttons on the back and 2 sided screen function on 5000 are absolutely revolutionary.
I can Beo4 compare to everyday wristwatch. Impressive enjoyable and functional. I love the feel and functionality. When my 2 year drops it on the floor, my first thought is - oops another ding on my hardwood floor. ;)

P.S. Will never sell these two

No Alex, but they did intimate that it may be upgradeable for possible future two way products! That makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Who doesn't? I think it's one of the most amazing things made by B&O personally, although I could never afford one. Beo5 looks promising though! Does it do old-fashioned two-way comm.?

I have MCP 6500, Beolink 1000 and 5000 and Beo4.

The Beolink 5000 is my favourite, and I'm thinking of getting another one.

Although bear in mind that programming is no longer an advantage when used in one-way mode. Also, while the BeoLink 5000 is much better in the dark if you have a TV or light source to see it against, in the light, it's generally more difficult to see than the Beo4...

Maybe it was just the one I tried? To me, it felt like some of the very first Beo4s, which weren't that impressive. It felt lightweight, and kind of plasticy...

Don't completely agree with this - I think the 5000 is beautifully made and feels smaller and almost jewel like. The display is gorgeous and the see through technology and the fact you can flip it is wonderfully B&O. But it is rotten as a one way controller! (I actually don't like it as a two way controller either as programming with it is too complicated!, but that is probably just me!)

I wasn't that keen on the BeoLink 5000! I had one for a week to try out, and switched straight back to my BeoLink 1000 after a few hours of use. Too fragile IMO, and the build quality is nothing that impressive in comparison to the BL1000 or Beo4, both of which are built like tanks!

Also found the time it took for commands to be processed kind of irritating.

I'd just get a Beo4 if I were you! The display is generally easier to read, and it's much nicer to touch/use.

Will it work? - Yes!

Would I do it? - No!

You lose the two way programming so the major purpose is lost. You will just have an inferior Beo4 really. Also a bit more fragile.

I love the BLnk5000 design is it possible to use with current B&O gear (obviously not two way).

I'm assuming that future products also begin to include the Beo 5, but it will be one way won't it?
