I have just such a gadget... xlink bttn. Solid as a rock, dead-brain easy to use. Have all our house phones wired to our mobile phones this way since a year ago.

Only requirement is that the xlink device should be installed someplace close to where the mobile phones will naturally be dropped-off / put on a dock while at home.

Well, it is what it is... an answering machine.

The 1200 added some more features like caller announce, etc...

I have always liked them and still use them.

However, I am interested in this thread as I am considering alternatives as these age. I have one that is kaput and I am looking at the possibility of using the shell to encapsulate an off brand unit. What I have found is that with the advent of digital land lines and their inbuilt e-answering service as well as the overwhelming use of cell phones today... that the concept of a standalone answering device is seemingly going the way of the dinosaurs. While they are out there... I am thinking that my next telephony step may well be to eliminate my land line service (excepting 911 and security monitoring) and simply go with cell phones 24x7. you should go for an answering machine from "TipTel" and take one of the higher level machines:

Quite correct! You can work it when not at home though. In the UK, one should really use 1571 which allows much better integration!

Yes.

There is no "linkage" between the two.

Is it possible to listen to the voice mail recorded in beotalk 1100 or 1200 using the beocom 6000 handset?

Or do you have to physically be at the answering machine to play the messages?

Interesting.I do have a Beocom 6000 and a Beotalk 1200 and the red light certainly flashes if a call comes in when I am not there and the Beotalk takes the call. I wonder if setting the answer machine to a few more calls would make a difference. I confess to not liking the Beotalk 1200 - it is not in my view a very good answering machine - no internal clock battery so resets the time if any power cut and one of the few B&O products that really does need the manual!

All:

I want to get a digital answering machine for Beocom 6000. Currently I have a AT&T digital answering machine which gets activated after 4 rings and records the message. However, when the line is picked up answering machine my Beocom 6000 thinks that the phone has been picked up and does not show the missed call with the red blinking indicator. In this situation I would not not know about any missed calls, unless i check my answering machine.

1. Is it possible to fix this with out buying BeoTalk 1100 or 1200 or any other model if avaialble

2. If I get any beotalk does it make the beocome 6000 blink the indicator when I missed the call, even if the answering machine gets activated

3. Any other efficient solution to my problem.
