thanks for the advise but why does this still happen when the tv is off?

is there anyway of sheilding the ir transmitter/receiver?

This is what happened to me, too.

We had an Beoenter AV5 TV/CD/Radio for sale that was set up close to our Pioneer Kuro Plasma. With the Plasma TV on, the AV5 would not react to the BEO4 commands! Took me a while to figure this out...

Mark,

Plasma (and oft LCD) can cause interference w/ the IR signals... esp when presented in the same plane as your setup.

LOOK HERE for more details...

My suggestion would be to first move the smaller BS2500 to another room w/ no TV and see how it responds then.

If it seems to be OK and you want them in the original room... you could also try reorienting them 90d so their line of sight is perpendicular to the TV.

update 2!

i now have the same problem with a beosystem 2500 i have just bought (fully serviced and in mint condition) sometimes all 3 remotes will work great and some times nothing (wont even work one way).

does anyone have any idea???? i cant see all three remotes being faulty BL7000, mk1 BL5000 and mk2 BL5000.

update! i have replaced all top 5 capacitors changed and it worked great for 20 mins then back to no contact! also the same with the two BL5000's

so must be the 9500? does anyone have any idea what i could be i.e bad capacitors of software problem?

Are you using it in a link room? I would try, though I am sure you already have, removing the system from the 7000 and then adding it.You must do this in front of the system. If all three remotes are failing, it must be the 9500 - maybe the signal is low and sometimes it does not fully reach the remotes.

it works fine when they want to i have even replaceed the two small capacitors on the BL7000.

as i write this the time is displayed on the 7000 but when i go to turn thr radio or cd on it says no contact but then it comes up with cd and track number but no volume displayed???

i think its strange

Hi this is my problem, i have a beocenter 9500, 2 beolink 5000's (mk1 &mk2), a beolink 7000 (rds).

now the problem is sometimes they fine and sometimes not at all, i can turn the 9500 on but the remotes say no contact then if its in standby the BL7000 says no contact but if its left for an hour or so the time will appear and it works but i go to turn it on and i get no contact!

i have checked the all remotes and the 9500 with a camcorder and the infrared led's are all working so does anyone have any ideas? (before it all goes in a skip LOL)
