Having wonderful BL3 and buying another BL 7-2 stereo speakers doesn't really make sense. You might want to change the BL 7-2 to 7-4 and then using the BL3 as front left/right (again).

I have BL4 as surround. Yes, not really high capacity speakers. But for our room they fit perfect and nice and for surround, they are great. And the BV7 really has a cool Dolby Engine which creates impressive 5.1 even when getting only PCM sound instead of full DD 5.1.

Re: Beovision 7-40 and speakers

OK,Thanks for helping.

Re: Beovision 7-40 and speakers

i Have tried that once asswell back in the days and indeed its impossible...

Re: Beovision 7-40 and speakers

Is it impossible to only have 7-2 and rears?

Yes

Re: Beovision 7-40 and speakers

You must first configure the front speakers left and right.

Afterwards, it is possible to configure surround. But perhaps only, when you have a center. So the BL3 might only be configured as rear left/right (not surround left/right) unless you have a center.

Surround is defined as 5.1 or 7.1, hence you might need a center (.1).

Re: Beovision 7-40 and speakers

Agree, I think it is impossible.

i also wonder, why not use the bl3 as front speakers? I would prefer to have a center and two fronts over a center and two rears.

I was thinking to use the 7-2 as front and beolab 3 as rears. When I go to the menu i have assigned beolab 3 to the right connections, and then in speakerroles when I try to choose the beolab 3s as left and right surrounds, I is not possible to hit go, nothing happens. Am I missing something here? Is it impossible to only have 7-2 and rears?
