Yes, with limitations described in my previous post.

If the MCP is in service mode you can make changes/adjustments to settings
of timer and stations.

But, as far a I remember, external control via ML is disabled when MCPAV9000
is set to service mode.

It works as a ML source - I did somethig similar many years ago in combinatin with an Avant - but there are, as far as I can remember, some severe limitations:

1) use today's 9-conductor, the old 16-conductor ML cable used with the early AV9000s may cause troubles. Maybe the B&O Service has to solder a "jumper" between 2 of the pins of the ML socket to get it "9-conductor ML ready" - ask them

2) you must use an one way remote like Beo4/BL1000 - get an older one with the "AV" button insted of "DVD"

3) forget about manual operation exept "Magic Open" of the doors and "Load" for CDs

4) even with TV in option 2 the TV will not power on by any audio command , you will have to start the TV by a video command like "TV" then "AV" from the List plus "CD" or any audio command.

5) make sure that all reqired setup (re-programming of radio stations, clearing of timers, ...) is done while the MPAV beeing connected to the AV 9000 - no chance later on

PS: The proof of the pudding is in the eating - I connected my vintage "9-conductor ML ready" MPAV to my BV 7-55 and ... surprisingly ... it worked

I had thought that the MCP9000 would work as a ML connected source with later ML TV's?

I've heard of a guy in Europe somewhere that converts the MPAV to an Overture... I'll see if I can find the details.

No there is no other use for the MPAV9000 than a Beovison AV9000.

The flagship of the '90s but today it still is with some trouble.

MPAV9000 can't be used in any other setups at all.

Beovision AV9000 on its own is like the MX series in a way but with out the surround the same kind of value.

I have a '98 IMP AV9000 but I use a Beosystem 6500 instead. I still need 2 pairs of Beolabs as I only got center speaker. Compared to my LX5500 its not much of a upgrade and yet it still cost 3 times more to get back in order.

What you should do is let the MPAV9000 go with the Beovision AV9000 and simply get another B&O audio system + the new Beovision. The Beolabs are still the most valuable could be used for the new setup. Trade in the AV9000 + MPAV. They were designet to go together and thats it.

You could go with the Beosystem 2500/3200 style for audio which is the same style as the MPAV9000 but works with any Beovision that handles linking. It can work the same.

I have the follwing setup: AV9000 Type 42/000 MST linked to an MPAV9000, BL8000 connected as front speakers and BL6000 as rears, Beolink5000, all bought about 18 years ago. I now would like to replace the AV9000 by an new 50" LCD/ LED panel by maintaining the current functionality of the system - one remote, highly integrated.

However as to my understanding due to to the high integration of the master panel (which is the audio source module) and the the TV even an new B&O TV does not seems to meet my requirement. Not to talk about any non B&O products. Isn`t it possible to combine a modern B&O TV with my MPAV9000 maintaining the former functionality? If this really should be the case, do I have to say goodbye to the complete system? Or is there at least any way to "convert" the MPAV9000 into a real music system? Your input is highly appreciated.
