Many thanks to all - bought the BV6-22, BV8 RF connected to the BV6 (to be able to use only 1 payTV card as Mika suggested and to be able to watch HDR recordings form the BV6). Stefan, thanks for the hint, I'll look into that as well, but for now I try to keep my "system" in very basics.

What about a card sharing system for pay tv. I got a smartwi system for my conax card. www.smatwi.net . It`s connected to three sat receivers, the integrated DVBS receiver of my BV7-40 with conax slot, an external sat HD box with conx cam called Lyngbox, both in mainroom and a sat receiver with integrated conax in a kid`s room, not connected to the ML system. I can watch the two mainroom boxes in linkrooms - a BC6-26 and a BV6-22.

many thanks for help! I'll bother you with some further questions after actually getting the BV6 - after your answers I'm pretty sure I'll go and get it. Mika's reply (about the pay-tv and card) applies especially well in Finland, which is where I'm based as well.

Or even just for SD - while the link system only distributes composite video modulated on an RF carrier, a direct SCART connection from an STB would be in RGB and much better picture quality.

One good reason for having the video signal linked as well though would be if you want to watch pay-TV channels. Then you can keep the card in the "main" STB and still watch it in both rooms.

You can pull any additional video sources from a Video Master (BV8) provided they are connected correctly:

STB

1. Needs to be connected via SCART (or RGB?) as well as HDMI

2. Needs to be controlled via STBC

DVD1

1. Normal connections

BV8-40

1. Needs ML out (like you've already got for BL2000) to link network/BV6-22.

2. Needs RF out - then distributed to aerial in on BV6-22. This is usually achieved by sending the RF out to a central amplifier/splitter then feeding the aerial sockets in all your rooms.

3. Not sure why you'd want to watch the inbuilt tuner of the BV8 in the link room when you've now got a tuner supplied by aerial in the BV6.

4. The main advantage for having a second STB on the BV6 would be to have a second HD source.

Hi,

I have a BV8-40 with STB (with HDR) connected. I could use BV8s own, built-in digital tuner, but because the external tuner has a HDR build in, I normally use that. STB has a HDMI connection with the BV8.

I'm thinking about buying a second hand BV6-22 with ML module to be used as a link TV in the kitchen. I already have a BL 2000 in another room and i'm stoked about how nice it is to use.

Will it be as simple (as it is with BL 2000) to use the BV6-22 for listening to CD's/Radio or audio from the BV8 in the main room (remembering that I of course need a Beo4 to control the BV6-22, unlike the BL 2000)?

Can I watch video/picture from the main room? Different video than what is playing in the main room? If I use the STB tuner in the main room (BV8), can I use the build in tuner of BV8 for watching tv in the link room (BV6-22)? Can I watch DVD (1) from the main room? What cables do I need? Or is it far more simple to connect another STB/digituner to the BV6-22 in the link room?
