Looking at the remote, all the video source buttons (TEXT also works as one) seem to be on the same column. I guess there could be some surface leakage on the PCB due to dirt or corrosion that will eventually cause the remote to register a click there, or perhaps one of the membrane switches is a bit "lazy" getting back up. You might try cleaning the PCB with a cloth dampened in isopropanol, it might help.

Re: Beolink 1000 problem

I have no tv connected, I own a Beosystem 4500 + Beolab 4500.

Tournedos you were absolutely right! The remote works ok ( I am impressed by the trick using the digital camera, it is really a good party trick to impress friends) , for some reason the remote switches to video. I only have to press again CD or Radio ot whatever I am listening in that moment .

Thanks to everybody

Re: Beolink 1000 problem

Then my money is on the theory that the remote somehow switches to video mode by itself... perhaps one of the video source buttons (TV/SAT/V.TAPE) is somehow sticking?

Do you have any B&O video equipment? If not, the next time the remote acts up, try the digicam trick. Aim the transmitter end to a digital camera / camera phone and look at the preview while pressing one of the volume buttons. If you see the remote transmitting (the LEDs show up pale blue on the preview) but your stereo doesn't react, the remote must be in video mode.

Re: Beolink 1000 problem

I have put a round piece of aluminium foil on those dots because they were worn but the problem is still there. I don't think is due to that because there are other dots with intact conductive paint ( for ex the buttons for mute) with the same problem. The funny thing is that after pressing the working buttons( for ex CD, Radio, Phono, Tape etc) the volume buttons work again normally

Hi there, welcome to Beoworld.

It sounds like a membrane problem. Take it apart and see if the dots in the membrane have worn away. Have a look at THIS thread for possible remedies.

Steve

I have since found yet another remedy for fixing the MK 1's & 2's.

Take a non working acetate laminated membrane from a MK3 or later version. Split the laminated sheet & the top layer has the electrolytic dots intact which will fit directly into an earlier version. The dots are smaller than on the original sheet & square but it does work. You can actually get 2 replacement sheets from one non working laminated one by doing this. I have some spare if the OP needs one.

I have a question for you : My Beolink 1000 has a peculiar problem. Sometimes the volume buttons don't work. Then I press the CD or Radio or Phono button which work normally and then I press the volume button again ant it works ok. Does anybody have an answer? Thanks
