It seems easier to me for you just to bring your cartridge here, then we can try it on my BG5000 - if it works fine on that you know it's not the cartridge that's the problem, and if it doesn't you know it is. That way saves you two trips to collect and then return it, and I don't have to be without my MMC4!

Let me know if you want to give it a go.

If one channel is missing, try mounting the cartridge upside down. Press play, touch the needle tip gently with a finger and listen.
If sound is now missing in the other channel, the cartridge is bad.
If sound is still missing in the same channel, the cause is not the cartridge but more likely a broken solder joint inside
the DIN plug or a muting problem inside the turntable.

i have a beogram 3500 which i sent to my local b&o repair guy (martain farrance) for a output fault although he says the stylus seems in good condition he thinks that i could be faulty but without another one to compare it with he cant rule it out.

i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to loan me one so i could give it to him to test it?

i live in the north east (redcar) so i could collect it of if anyone is willing to post it i will gladly cover the costs!

many thanks
