I did it the Andy way, and everything went perfect. &lt;p&gt;Some hot water, some hair shampoo and a small brush are good enough. Also boards can be cleaned with wather and shampoo. They will come out awfully darkened (ask my old Bialetti moka pot how I know). B&amp;amp;O parts are usually anodized which might protect them, but better not even risk it...&lt;/p&gt;
