Have just accessed this forum.

Have sen your post about repairing slider on Beolit 600.

Have this problem with one here.

I am in Amersham; wonder whether I might bring it to you for advice when convenient.

Thanks, I will consider that - the radio is pending electrical restoration and isn't exactly a Miss Beolit pageant anyway, I'll first need to see if it will survive otherwise

Mika,

Gluing failed - there's just not enough area to make it bond with enough strength and it has to be slightly flexible to grip the Beolit top plate.. I ended up buying a micro drill bit set (to use with a Dremel) and some tiny watchmakers screws and screwed the two parts together from the pronged/fork side.

Two screws through the prong into the finger slider. Screws positioned in-between the two broken posts of the prong - if that makes sense.

There's not much room for error and it might be worth while removing the top plate of the Beolit and position the two broken parts so you can see the tolerances.

I also have a 707 with broken sliders (otherwise very nicely packaged for delivery, just too tight )

So you have tried simply gluing the fork/prong part back on to the finger slider, and it didn't work?

Hi Justin,

I've repaired but also fabricated a replacement. It's early days yet but if you still have the bit that's left over after the slider control has been knocked off I might have an alternative solution by recreating the actual slider and fixing it to the pronged bit left behind.

Like I said it's in it's infantancy right now but keep hold of the pronged bit....

Not something I intend to mass produce as it's a time consuming/cognac sipping process but it will provide a solution until a real one comes along.

I think your best bet would be to keep an eye out for a wrecked Beolit of this type & salvage the parts form it. The volume & tone sliders are the same on all of these and just clip on & off.

The slider is missing......

I bought a really nice, genuine, one owner beolit knowing this was missing, but everything else was right...card battery tube, good aerial etc. It was a bit of a gamble, but it doesn't effect the sound which is most important.I wanted it to be spot on like my other b&o kit I guess...

Will have to keep an eye open for bits then....if anyone has one it's here or ebay I suppose.

I think I'd rather have a nice, genuine, old radio with a bit missing than one that's been messed with or damaged repaired.

These are extremely rare to find and people who have them really want to hold onto them I'm afraid I have seen them listed on ebay occasionally and they do tend to fetch quite a good price. Do you actually have the broken one, I have repaired one before without too much trouble but it does depend on the degree of damage.

Hi,

B&O addict for many years...just started to collect the old radio's.....which could be a good thing - not sure yet !

New member, so sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I'm looking for a tone slider in silver for my Beolit 600.....(rare as rare I know)...could anyone point me in the right direction please ?

I'm confident that there must be one somewhere in the beoworld ! - :-)

Any help would be superb, thanks in advance
