Thanks. I have no real vested interest in creating a replacement however I do
like to play while my wife watches Celebrity Dancing On Opera et al but do need
an original to work from.

I've sort of succeeded in doing the same with Beolit sliding knobs.

Just out of interest...

I've never seen this part in situ but I can see from the link that Graham posted the bag contains a number of bits - if only the plastic cap was re manufacturered would this solve the problem and you could use the original spring etc?

Steve

Yes, in 99% of cases.

The kit, from memory, comprises the now infamous plastic widget, a new spring with a plastic ring that fits inside it and a replacement circle of non slip sticky backed plastic to stick on the turntable and better grip the CD.

As long as the spring is retained by the user, it can be re-used. The danger is that they get binned with the broken widget!!!

Re: Beocentre 9000 CD plastic cap

Just out of interest...

Hello,

My name is Ian Ellis & I have
recently had my Beocentre 9000, which I have owned for approx 20 years, in for repair in Melbourne Australia.

The repairer could not provide the small part required to repair the CD player.

The CD player has a black tapered plastic
cap that holds the spring on the centre shaft.

The plastic cap has broken.

Does anyone have have a replacement plastic cap and the spring if possible? A cap & spring from a
discarded unit would be fine.

I would greatly appreciate assistance as I have a huge attachment to my Beocentre 9000 and am desperately missing my music!

Thank you, Ian.
