The one I had trouble with was random though!

The Mx seems to respond to a play signal or noise via the Scart cable (pin 8)I wonder if setting the tv input as decoder makes this more likely?

Certainly disabling Scart control in the digibox menu (if poss)would be good,or praps try another input mode for the telly?

we had the same problem in germany with a "premiere box ", my husband cut off

the pin 8 connector on the scart scable and all problems are solved. The Box switches on between 3 and 4 o' clock am and the mx switched on.

see wikipedia for the pins off the scart cable

hope this will help you

the above solved my phantom operation (usually 2 or 3am and a bit of a pain!)

Use a good quality Scart cable anyway. You may need to ground the aerial cable if you are using a "booster" rf amplifier.

Scientific Atlanta cable tv boxes are haunted in my experience,if you have one of these, suspect it!The later Samsung boxes seem better?

He never used the aerial feed only the digital box. He suffered similar problem of the set intermitently switching to stand by. After much investigation, the problem was resolved with a software update on the tv.

Do you have an aerial feed that would enable you to temporarily disconnect the Virgin box to see if the problem persists?
