beotime is brandnew ...
but is is a good idea to test with other batteries. I will test it this weekend

hm... my beotime seems to work fine with the beosound 4000 and 9000 from about 5 meters away through two layers of glass. perhaps you can try using stronger batteries?

Just a thought ... how long have you had the BeoTime ... and are the batteries brand new ?

I wonder if there is something about the BeoTime that causes it to drain power faster than say a Beo4.

Well, my 3500 is also 2.5 meters from the ground and the room isn' t that big either.

On the other hand, in my case, the BeoTime never fails to turn on my BL3500 no matter what angle or position.

Then again, our BL 3500 hangs very high on a wall above a doorway, so it is well located to catch any direct emissions and reflections from the BeoTime.

I never had any problem with the 3500. It works perfect with the beo4.

I can of course turn the beotime, so the ir diodes are pointing directly to the 3500 ..
but than, what' s the use of the beotime ....
the IR diodes are at the back of the first LCD display. I think their signal is not strong enough. When I do some test, i can see the signal of a beo4 is stronger then the signal from the beotime. It can be of course a malfunction ...
I reported it also to my dealer.

hello i have the same problem with the light controls

only 3 mtrs from the beotime and thy don,t work anymore

dealer said this is normal

tv is 8 mtrs and works good i don,t understand it

Hi Nico

The infra red transmitters on BeoTime are behind the square displays. Is it possible for you to try turning the BeoTime slightly to let more of the infra red beam see the Lab3500?

Hi,

I don´t think it is the BeoTime. My BeoLab 3500 have a tendency sometimes to go crazy also with Beo4.

The beotime is a very nice design and easy to use, but it is not able to start up my beolab3500 in the morning ...
When I hold it in my hand, and the alarm goes it switches the radio on. But when it is on the drawer night stand the IR signal is not strong enough. The distance is ony 4 meters and the beolab can see the beotime ..
Does anyone else have this problem ?
