That means sometime Feb./Mar., I can hardly wait.

I sincerely hope this hasty introduction will not be at cost of the quality. Earlier posts/threads indicated some BV10 owners experienced problems with the DVB-HD module and panel backlighting. Actually I am wondering how these cases have been handled/resolved by B&O. Nevertheless it will not stop me from getting a BV10-46", it will however make sure I discuss replacement policy of B&O with my dealer in case of any default.

Bottom line is I demand when I buy B&O I don't have to expect or deal with any of the above.

Hi,

I haven't had any notable problems with the DVB-HD module: okay, startup is somewhat slow, but that does not bother me - I'm usually not in a hurry when I watch TV :).

As for the backlight problems discussed in the other thread that I started, I will definitely keep you posted on how B&O will handle the case. So far no word from B&O Customer Service, and I've been too busy to pay my dealer a visit yet.

thanks for the congratulations.

As I wrote before, I do use masterlink with my BL 3500 and except the little sound-delay it works fine for me. And I do have a surround set-up with 4 BL 6000's and everything works fine. And I do have HD TV (IPTV through VDSL) which works perfectly.

I understand completely your frustration about the faults with the DVB HD module. Am I right,it is terrestrial or not? I'm sure, that I would feel the same. Here in Germany the module costs € 540.-. You are right, a customer can expect that a simple DVB module (like integrated in almost every € 500.- TV set) should work perfect. Why don't you turn it in and tell your dealer to bring it back to you whenever it works like it is supposed to work?

One of the main reasons for my decision (exept performance and design) was the unbeatable quality of the B&O products I already owned. No faults, no problems, they work for 10 years now and I hope that it willl go on like that with my BV 10.

Beeing glad not having the DVB HD module

Hi all,

reading this interesting thread gives me the opinion that I am the only absolutely happy BV 10 owner. I must admit though, that my BV 10 does not have a integrated DVB HD module (I use IPTV by German Telekom which works perfect. Even the "old" BEO 4 from my Avant works the receiver using the SAT button like on the new one using the DTV button). In my link room (BL 3500) I do have also a little delay but, it's in the link room! So normally I don't hear it.

I hope for you, that your problems will be solved soon by B&O!!

Georgakis

Hi Georgakis

No, i dont think you are the only happy owner of a BV 10, i am sure there are a lot others out there. With no DVB-HD module i guess you are sparred from what is the primary reason for all this yelling :-) The problem is that most of B&O´s customers (as far as i know), do not use more that 50% of the features available, and therefore maybe never spots some of the faults. But a person like me, i utilize every possible connection, including Masterlink surround etc etc. If i bought a BV10 or say a BV 7-40, used it with analoge signals, and no masterlinked products, i would certainly think that my tv was perfect in every way. However B6O choose to provide a DVB-HD module, and even charge extremely much to fit one in an older tv, and they do this knowing everything about its flaws. If you provide an option for digital broadcasting and charge money for it, it better work like intended. I would much rather they had never made this module, then i wouldn´t have to use my energy on this issue, and had probably bought a 3 party tuner..

So congrats on your new tv, and be glad you did not have the DVB-HD module fitted.

My Pioneer LX52 uses almost the same time to start up a BD. Too slow, yes, but it is still relatively new technology.

How about your DVB-HD module, is this working for you? My point is that B&O are SO focused on inventing new features, that they forget about simple things that just about every owner uses. Would you ever think to ask your B&O dealer the next time you buy a 10.000 euro television, whether or not you will have the same very very basic features as ALL other low priced piece of junk tv´s from other manufactures? Well opposed to the early B&O days, just might just have to ask that question now. "Well you see, dear customer, you will not be able to have a working EPG, you will have to live with fannoise during television watching, and startup times between 20 and 50 sec. epending on what source you want to watch. Your linkrooms will all be out of synch with your mainroom and a lot of other not functioning stuff, but dont forget than you also only pay 10-20 times the price of other tv´s that work as they are intended to work"

How can a working EPG function be difficult to provide?? it has been around for years now and a lot of people use it. How can loud fannoise on a tv be ok? It is like saying "Look at this brand new airplane, it has the newest technology in landing and taking off" and then when you ask wheather it can fly are told, "ehhmmm no!!" Tv´s are supposed to be quiet, actually this should range in top 3 of important features and as should airplanes beeing able to fly. But for B&O and their BV 7-40 MK III and IV, fannoise is not an issue as long as the picture is crystal clear.. It makes me sick.

My point to be precise is, that in the old days when you bought B&O, you knew what you would get without having to question the overall usability. Now however, you have tv´s that does not work as y"ou would expect a tv to work, BM5 that, as i am aware, has a lot of nonfunctioning features, Beo5 you officially cant update yourself etc.etc. B&O know the DVB-HD module does not work properly, but instead of making it work, they just introduce new products with a nonfunctioning module. How can this be justified?? And if and when they succeed in making the software correct, the poor dealers are forced to visit you and everyone else with a module for an upgrade for the fourth time... SO instead of working and well tested products in the old days, B&O now rely on selling selling selling selling, and then dealing with the issues afterwards..

B&O, you do not have the expertise to keep up on a technologically basis, so please let someone else design and manufacture say the DVB-HD module and start concentrating on what you used to do...Overall usability and satisfaction guaranty, that is what we want and you have completely lost your focus.. Stop focusing on quick revenues on behalf of long customer relationships, you will most likely not succeed.
