I've got the exact same problem with one of my two handsets (the other works perfect). The strange thing is that the faulty set did get the incoming calls, but I couldn't answer (only got the annoying tone). I could see who's calling. I could also see the phone book and the last incoming and outgoing calls (made on the other handset).
I unregistered the set, but now I can't register it to base.
I come to the prompt for pin code, but then I only get "fault". I've checked the pin code with the other hand set, and it's correct.

Re: beocom 6000 registering problem

hi guys, last sunday my phone stopped again - I try to make a call and you get a loud engaged tone type of thing. But on monday it fixed itself (again)... and then on Saturday it stopped again and now it's monday and still no luck. I have tried reregistering by presseing the button on the base and then going into dot 7 on the handset menu to get it to find the base. It finds it but then asks for pin again and 0000 does not work.

Seems I may have an ongoing problem here. Any new advice for me?

Thanks alot.

Re: beocom 6000 registering problem

Hi Jon, that is so very kind of you. But guess what, I just went to have a play around with it again and there was a message on the screen asking for a name. Somehow or another with out doing anything it has re-registered it self over night/this morning plus I have my contacts back and everything, even though I'd reset the phone and the base yesterday.

I have no idea what exactly went on but my phone is back to normal and fully tested working. All I did was rename the phone a minute ago.

Strange one but once again, Thanks alot Jon for the kind offer.

Oh, does anyone have a link to the old instruction manual for this phone. It must be the older type (mark 1)? where I need to hit dot 7 to bring up the menu.

Phone has been working fine and then this morning I could not answer when someone called. Then I saw I could not dial either, got a loudish engaged tone. I reset the base and phone and started to reset it but now it asks for a pin. I tried the 0000 thing, tried turning everything off for some time but it still asks for the pin and when entering 0000 it says error and then sates that the phone is not registered.

I live in North london, do I have to take this too a dealer to get fixed? If so, can anyone reccommend a knowledgeable and friendly one : )

Thanks in advance.
