Thanks for all your input.

After ChrisReunion's mail I went digging in the basement and found a 1611 converter which is now connected between the PC and the 3500, sounding and working perfect.

While digging I also found a PC2 box, which I think would be able to do the job as well. Must admit I had completely forgotten I had both.

Once again thanks for your input, now we just need B&O to broaden their views and make a small nifty Ipod connector/charger that works with the full lot....

There is a French workshop called Madsystemes that makes adaptors to connect Powerlink on one end and Masterlink on the other, google the name and you should find their website, it costs around EUR 200.

Another solution which I use with my BeoLab 2000 is to connect the Powerlink or audio link out of your BeoSound (or your Ipod/PC via a jack to DIN 5 adaptor) to a MCL Converter (type 1611) on one end, and then go to the Lab 3500 via Masterlink, however if you want to control the volume from your audio source, you'll have to use both Powerlink and aux link to feed the MCL converter. I use only the aux link out, not the Powerlink, which gives me independent volume control on the Lab 2000. In that case, you'll have to press "TV" on a B&O remote to activate the Link speaker, otherwise it won't turn on.

Not very straightforward, but it works!

Beolab 3500 - Standalone Speaker???

Gent's,

Does anyone have any experience with using a Beolap 3500 speaker as a standalone speaker, for instance connected directly to an Ipod or a PC?

My 3500 is a wee bit old, coming with both the ML and MCL connections...

Any proposals would be highly appreciated as the thing is just lying on my desk doing nothing...guess the key is to trigger the speaker relay?
