if i remember correctly my tv stopped responding to the beo4 with SKY whe i took the scart lead out but this was fixed in a SW update so that you did not need scart connected at the same time

i believe you need to swithc off the tv and power it back on with the HDMI/DVI cable connected only so the TV can sence what is on and off.

the older software did cofuse the STB controller without scart as i had this issue a while ago.

Many thanks for your reply. I have put the Sky SCART control to "on", but as yet the Beo4 will not work the Sky box. I'll have to get tge B&O expert to sort it out.

As regards activating the HDMI, I have just viewed "Amadeus" on Sky HD and the picture apprears to be quite good, so at least the HD parf could be working correctly.

You need the SCART. I actually had Sky HD fitted when I had my Avant and B&O fitted the BV10 later on. They fitted the HDMI but deliberately left the SCART. You need the SCART partly for control and also for link rooms I believe. You do need to make sure the HDMI is active for the BV7 though - you should notice if it not though as picture quality is not quite so good. I have the Samsung Sky HD box which I am very happy with so far - quiet - only had to reset it once so far!!

My apologises if this subject has already been covered, but there are a few problems after I had a replacement Sky HD box for my BV7-40 Mk II. The new box is a Pace, while the (faulty) box was a Thompson. The installer insisted that the SCART cable be turned off, although the previous Sky box had the SCART connected. Can anyone please advise which is correct? The tv has the usual HDMI/DVI upgrade and connection.

After fitting the new Sky box, I find that the Beo4 no longer controls the 'box. I have checked with my local B&O dealer (they are very helpful) and all the usual menus on the tv are set correctly for 'box operation, and the front connection is in the correct place. Is there something else which I could check?

Furthermore, when turning off the tv on the previous 'box, using the Beo4, it reverted to stand-by. This feature is missing from the present setup. Again, is there anything which I should do so that the Beo4 could return the 'box to standby?

Finally, the tv has not had any SW upgrades for at least two years. I do not know how to establish what upgrades, if any, the tv may have had or indeed may need, so if anyone does know if there have been any upgades in the past two years, I would very much appreciate details of what they are, so that I can get the local dealer to install any which may be needed.
