Thanks, I was going to leave it a few days rather than giving a knee jerk reaction about the overall quality, but 1st impressions are very good - easy install, very obvious how to use the phone, very nice to hold, my wife could tell I was using the base speaker rather than holding the phone when I called, but no problem with clarity.

Having bought a Serene (which I loved) and a Seranata (which I'm not so impressed with) the Beocom 5 is much more Serene than Serenata - which is a very good thing.

Is the soundQuality of the bc-5 better then bc-6000.

Here you go - you get a good idea of size next to a 6000.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the phone will live in the bedroom

me too, just picked mine up and it is very lovely - registered with the base no problem, picked up the common phone book and called my wife to say thank you for my Birthday / Christmas present, all took less than 3 minutes!!

Having only ever seen pictures of the phone and base I was worried the base would be quite large, but I'm pleased to say it isn't and it looks stunning.

My local dealer - Bang & Olufsen of Tenterden in Kent have told me they are taking delivery of Beocom 5's on the 23rd Dec !

They also have Beotime's in stock

MY dealer told me that late Jan/ early Feb 2010 will be the release date of Beocom 5

I'm in exactly the same boat, was all set to be my birthday/christmas present but now I'll probably get some sense into me and just disconnect my phone line and spend the money I was planning for the Beocom5 elsewhere.

I'm very disappointed that my birthday / Christmas present still isn’t available - apparently they found a software bug and so have delayed the release (which I suppose is better than getting it and it not working). Has anybody been told when they may take delivery?
