Today my local dealer called me with good news. He found that an update in fact exists for the BV3 STB-C chipsets that will support the newer SKY HD decoder. He admit he was wrong on first "guess".

Just waiting for January for the chips to be installed. :)

He confirmed me that old STB-C (namely the ones from CRT TV sets) have not the codes to control the Italian model of Decoder for SKY HD, decoder that is different from the one sold in other countries and working with the "PACE SKY+" settings.

Unfortunately he reports me that there are no plans to support my setup. Sad news. :(

Anyone knows an alternative way to control a SKY box from the Beo4 remote?

Re: BV3-32 and SKY HD (PACE DS830NS)

Hi Peter,

I changed the configuration to "PACE Sky+" as my first guess too, but seems that the codes are actually changed (may be the newer receiver for Italy - with USB and LAN plugs to support IP-TV and DVB-T extensions) had different codes that the UK version - I know they are supposed to be different models from PACE.

I'm waiting for answer to the same question from my B&O Dealer; the SKY HD receiver is supported on newer TVs, but it has never installed on standard HD televisions. I upgraded because of the coaxial output for Dolby Digital, avoiding to but an optical -> coaxial converter as I did for my PS3. ;)

Thanks for your answer, I'll let you know just for reference.

I just installed my new SKY HD decoder, a PACE DS830NS provided by SKY here in Italy) and I'm not sue which selection I have to use on the STB-C controller.

I tried the PACE SKY+ option, but seems not to work. I placed it at center of the front panel, where following the manual should be located the IR receiver (on a platic piece, while the front panel is in metal).

Any suggestion?
