Yes, it also works with A.-V.AUX, but check if your Beo4 got A.-V.AUX in the list. There are older Beo4 versions, that don`t have this source.

Should work with any video source.

Seems like it would work. Also, might have an additional benefit if you have 5 speakers. We have our BV7 set to 5 speakers for Video, 2 for Audio. Thus when activating Apple TV as a Video Source all five speakers come on and I must use Speaker on the Beo 4 to switch to 2 speakers for music. If connected as an Audio source would go to 2 speakers automatically.

If I remember correctly Apple TV only has one HDMI but could use HDMI and Analog connections. We have both connected. HDMI so we get video and audio in main room, analog so we can get audio in Link rooms.

That's good news as I'd really like to turn on the speakers without ever turning on the TV panel and letting the Apple TV act like a stereo (that's guided via WiFi and an iPod Touch).

What do you guys think about this idea: What would happen if I connected the Apple TV to two different ports on the BS3 of the BV7? I'd designate one a video port and one an audio port and use the "audio" portion in the way that we've described above. Do you think this would work?

Our Apple TV is connected to V. Tape. Tried AV-V. Tape and worked as described.

I wonder if I could somehow make an Apple TV be occasionally seen as an audio source by the BV-7 so as to avoid turning on the screen (and having to use "picture mute" to turn it off). I'm controlling the Apple TV via an iPod Touch or iPhone so I don't need the Apple TV's on-screen-menus for listening to music.

If you have a BS9000 you can connect the Apple TV to the auxiliary port via a RCA to Din cable. Use a HDMI to DVI connector in the Apple TV hdmi port. Then select A.AUX on the Beo4. You will have music without the BV7 turning on its monitor. Of course this will not work with digital audio out and its reliant on an auxilary port on a B&O CD system which acts as an audio master...

Alternately buy a BEO5 and configure it to mute the picture when you press Apple TV.

The screen does NOT turn on. Tested right now with my BV7-40 MKIII, SW 5.xx.

If the screen was already off (let's say the entire TV was off with the red B&O light on), would hitting "AV-DVD" just turn the speakers on in Speaker 2 without having the screen ever turn on?

Why not just pressing AV - DVD ? This will let the stand turn to audio position, switch to SPEAKER 2 mode and let the screen switch off.

When those of you who own a BV7 use the DVD/CD/Blu-ray player to play a CD, does the flat panel come on, or does the TV simply say "CD" and port the sound to speakers sans LCD turning on?
