With sw 1.3 you have 2 way communication even in option 0.

....and with BS6500/7000 in A.OPT 1 or 2 you will have 2 way communication (if your BM7000 is not SW 1.3)

The only point I would make is that for some reason, I think Pentas sound better attached to the 7000 than to the Avant. That is of course for stereo music and if you want surround, you need to attach to the TV.

If you set your BS6500/7000 to A.OPT 1 and the Avant to V.OPT 1, you will activate the Avant by selecting a video source - TV, DVD, DTV, V.MEM....- without affecting the BS6500/7000. Vice versa activate your audiosystem incl. Pentas by RADIO, CD, PHONO, A.TAPE without affecting the Avant. If you want TV sound on your Pentas just press AV - TV (DTV, DVD....) to activate your BM 6500/7000 and the Pentas.

But the "classic" AV setup is Avant V.OPT 2 (your Pentas are connected to the Avant) BS6500/7000 in A.OPT 0 (no speakers connected). Presing RADIO, or any other audio source will activate the selected source, the Beomaster, the Avant (in audio mode) and the Pentas. Selecting a video source will activate the videomaster (Avant) and Pentas, connected to Avant`s Powerlink.

Benefits:

- you can access all your audio- AND video sources via masterlink in link rooms.

- It is also possible to create a mix of ML- and MCL system.

- Integration of audio- and video.

Hello All,

If I connect my 1998 Avant upto my Beosystem 6500/7000 (i have a combination of separates) using the 1611 convertor box & masterlink cable - exactly what am i gonna get?

I am assuming the main point to it would be to play tv sound through my audio speakers (Penta Labs) -- but would there be any other benefits i would gain that I am not realising? I dont know if my Avant has the 'surround sound module' - but i am assuming probably not....

Would hooking the audio/visual up in this way have any point to it? Would, for example, the penta's come on every time I switched the TV on? could I stop this happening if say I was watching TV late at night & didnt want the Penta's to wake up all those within a half mile radius??
