The panel may have become dislodged during transport. It will indeed not work if it isn't properly seated over the rubber "fingers" of the sensors.

As it was loose, be extra careful with the glass panels when you move the unit in the future. They are attached to the plastic frames with two-sided tape and may become detached (as the foam tape is mostly gone nowadays), and of course shatter if you drop them. Replacement panels for 9300 should be still available, but they are not quite identical and cost a bit...

Re: BEOCENTER 9000 - Just arrived, cd doesnt want to open/right hand side controls not working

mm...fixed it!

took the lower glass panel off, noticed it wasnt in square at the cd end...found a loose screw (looked liked an earthing screw with cable on it) then found a plastic cover for an led? put that back on, hoovered out any dust, then put back in properly. 10secs later all working...thanks for the help anyway.

In standby mode, i can press the tape button and it slides back and forth no problem, the cd side does not want to work. When i turn the unit on (by remote 1000 only), then the cd will play (only via remote) and none of the buttons on the cd section want to work, nor will the central ones for selecting tracks etc.......HELP !

Your support is most apprecaited, Thanks, Glen

Re: BEOCENTER 9000 - Just arrived, cd doesnt want to open/right hand side controls not working

Hi Glen, and welcome!

I'd just let it sit overnight before getting too worried. If it was really cold, some moisture may have condensed under the glass panels, and that could temporarily disable the capacitive touch controls.

There's no way to open the doors remotely. If you need to open it to get your CD out, look under the front edge of the unit - you should see two screw heads about aligned with the inner edge of the doors; they are actually the axles of the mechanisms. They are provided just for emergency purposes, you can turn them with a screwdriver and the doors will (tediously!) move. Preferrably unplug from mains first.

BEOCENTER 9000 - Just arrived, cd doesnt want to open/right hand side controls not working

Hi,

Just bought a mint 9000 unit. I plugged in turned on, loaded a cd, played and all seemed fine, although some contols didnt seem to want to work...(the unit was fairly cold and probably been in a courier van for 3 days!!!)...the cd player played for an hour or so, and remote worked well and did the controls for the system (1000)...however the controls on the cd section do not now work, and this includes the cd open button...so now my system only works with the same cd stuck in it !!!! its been at room temp for about 6hrs now, and i have also removed the transit screws for the cd (forgot about those when i first put the cd in and started using it !!!)

can anyone offer me any help on this, until i can get hold of the guy who sold me it ....its been recently serviced and new belts for the sliding covers installed as well, so not sure why it doesnt work !

ps - is there a button on the 1000 remote that will open the cd door?

cheers, glen
