Went in thinking the same thing. Then, discussed and look at the new Beocom 5. Decided a "mounted" (nee: wall bracket) version, next to my bed, would do the same for time for me, as I don't use an alarm clock (naTurally get up), and I have the functionality of the phone.

Bought the BeoCom 5 special. Waiting for delivery

I would be surprised if they did not update the BV7-32. There still is a market for smaller sets, especially in Europe so I don't see them abandoning this area. The BV7 should be the top of the range LCD and the 32 is lagging now.

...and it was pretty cool. Obviously most of the stuff that was already there is still there but I noticed a couple of things.

1. The BL8, which I use to hate, is way better in the 40" version. Way more practical and that speaker in the front looks much better. Plus if I got one it would solve my center channel issue =)

3. B&O doesn't really seem to care about the 32" models much anymore now that I'm in the market for one. My new living room is way smaller than the old one (the things one trades in for an ocean view) so a 40"+ is out of the question. But the 32" models are all out of date and it doesn't look like they're going to be updated. Alas.
