BL 2000 in bathroom since a year ago or so.

Just the other say I was telling my wife I find it a happier device for that room than, say, a BL 3500 we have in another room, because there is no need for a remote with the BL 2000 —whereas the BL 3500 does require reaching for the closest Beo4, BeoTime or BeoCom in order to do anything with it.

We use the BL 2000 mostly for RADIO and it has a source button for that; and another for CD; and yet another for TV which we do not use. If something else is already playing in a linked room, such as N.MUSIC or N.RADIO, it has a general ST.BY/GO button. And it has a volume rotary button. I find it the ideal linked product for a bathroom.

We'll just have to see if it lives a long or a short life in that environment.

On a Beolink Active, you can connect active speakers (Beolab).

On a Beolink Passive, you can connect passive speakers (Beovox).

As active speakers have a built in amplifier, the Beolink active does not have one.

As passive speakers do not have a built in amplifier, the Beolink passive has one.

Pretty much the reverse of the difference in loudspeakers... Beolink Active does not have an amplifier, so you can only use it with active speakers - so not suitable for e.g. Beovox 1.

personally I have BeoSound 1 on my bathroom and they work super well, has worked in 4 years despite damp

My parents has a BL3500 in their bathroom as well, and it is going strong on it's 6th year, and is being used every day.

Although it is not designed to be in a bathroom, a lot of people are very happy with a Beosound 2000 in their bathroom. They are not available new, and can be bought second hand.

They don't mind a bit of humidity, but again, do not get electrocuted, install them away from the wet areas.

You need a Beolink passive in L.OPT 6 (slave mode for audioand video) and BV1.

A bit of lazyness on my part. What kit do i need to listen my sources CD/DTV/A.MEM in the bathroom and what would it cost. I'm thinking of a Beovox 1.
