Interestingly I noticed after a bit more analysis at the weekend, the errors were only being logged when the system was being put into standby. It seemed they were being logged in the VMEM log every 2 minutes after power off and didn't appear to be added to the NVMEM log. There were TV mmdd 34-2E errors on the initial screen and IIC2E-34:ACK_MIS with PARAM: 01013406 and on closer inspection the led on the BS3 itself was staying on green.

I decided to power cycle the unit and it was only then that I realised the led on the BS3 wasn't supposed to be on when on standby. It looks like during the standby process something was preventing it from shutting down and, I guess, it was trying every 2 minutes to do something. Maybe this is what the blinking red led signifies - that the unit is not shutting down and it's in a state of retry. I'd be interested to know if you see the same when you next get the situation.

Anyway, I still have the APPLICATION_ERR - ERROR_CODE: 00F8 - PARAM: 00050051 (along with 08000003 & 00010003) in the log, awaiting the call from the engineer as this looks more serious based upon the service guide info.

Re: BeoSystem 3 Issue?

I get the blinking red light (without a green light) and I have the b&o plasma. It seems strange that they would go to the trouble to make it blink without a good cause - maybe it's a subliminal message telling me to get a BV4!

Anyway, I discussed the errors and will be put in touch with one of the engineers next week to see whether my BS3 needs some special attention.

Re: BeoSystem 3 Issue?

Thanks Bang1.

I traced the errors and there is only one which specifically states replace AVS board (APPLICATION_ERR - ERROR_CODE: 00F8 - PARAM: 00050051) and a couple of xx:xx:00:03 - for future use, so I'll raise this with my dealer tomorrow and see what transpires.

Re: BeoSystem 3 Issue?

Yes that normal, when powering on the main procceser check all moduel's and f.ex. the sound processer is'nt ready to reply.

so its only a software blob no error..

Re: BeoSystem 3 Issue?

Thanks for the updates. I called my local dealer to check and they weren't sure but offered a few suggestions (PIN code, dismissed at not the problem as it can be used ok, and timer settings). I checked the timers and re-confirmed one of my AV connection configs and the blinking LED has gone. I'll call them tomorrow to see if they can get technical to confirm the reason.

Also, after reading the service manual, I checked the service menus and there are errors on the initial screen (TV 0621 34-2E) and the history is peppered with IO_ERROR and APPLICATION_ERR, is it common to have this many errors? I'll have a look at the error charts in the manual and see if I can make sense of them.

Re: BeoSystem 3 Issue?

Noticed it on mine too.
