That was in fact all that was needed!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;However, one of the 8000s is making a loud feedback noise in this setting, and obviously, no sound in the other setting. Is this likely to be a fault with the speaker or something else I&amp;#39;m doing wrong?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I was given some beolab 8000s and 6000s and my local B&amp;amp;O centre advised me that I could connect them to my existing TV/computer/MP3 etc. using a headphone jack to phono lead. Duly went out and purchased all leads to find that the speakers won&amp;#39;t turn on from standby when attached to any of these things.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;How can I solve this?&lt;/p&gt;
