It sounds as though you need a 3.5mm minijack to 5pin DIN cable to connect your laptop to your Beosound 2000/Century, as most laptops have 3.5mm "headphone sockets" fitted. You can find these via my sponsor link below, marked as "iPod to B&O Cables".

For future reference, the Aux socket on your BeoSound is an input socket only, not a combined input/output socket as on most other B&O systems. Hence, you are fine to play back other music sources through the BeoSounds, but you won't be able to record from the B&O system to another device.

Kind regards,

Steve.

Re: Beosound 2000/Century Aux Input

Ok great so I just need to get a 5 pin mini DIN to 1/4" jack cable from somewhere then!

Thanks guys.

So I have a Beosound 2000/Century that was my brother's before me. The system is at least 15 years old at this stage and it's in great nick. Until recently it has lived in my bedroom but recently I transferred it to my living room so that it can become my stereo of choice for all things sound related and for the CDs and radio things are working great thanking you very much!

I watch quite a bit of streaming video however through my laptop hooked up to my TV and while the sound is ok from my Laptop speakers I would love to improve it somewhat! There is, of course, and aux in port on the back of the system but as far as I can make out the jack for this is B&O specific. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me?

Also I have one of the old school remotes and I'm wondering if the Phono button is actually the AUX button also?
