Okay cooldude, I just ordered some 2 pin din plugs from that website you posted, as I could not find any locally. I did not want to cause any frustration on your part although I appreciate your offer to locate some, thank you.

I will be sure to let you all know what my findings are, as you all seem very curious.

One of the issues with Conas is that the cross over frequency is quite high and they are, to an extent, directional. Therefore the stereo idea is not daft. Not sure I would use them with Pentas as the frequency range will not be extended but each to his own. The Cona was very much designed to work with C/CX speakers as they cover the range 40 - 195 Hz, which removes a good chunk of bass from the CX allowing them to work better as well as adding quite a bit to the bottom of the range. A musical speaker but not an LFE one.

Peter, your are right... forgot that the cross over frequency is fairly high on the original cona's...

The cx's and cona were never meant to be top of the line products but mainly designed as add-ons for link rooms.
I do stand corrected as neither my cona and CX's dont use the original cross-overs anymore (though I still have them) but rather use slightly adapted 3rd party crossovers. Resulting in a slightly boosted lower frequency cona giving the dual coil speaker a full workout in the low end and eliminating most directionality. The cx's benefitted with gained detail, fuller sound and overal dynamics. I live in an open concept refurbished factory loft where it's very hard to make anything sound good. Many trials with B&O and non B&O speakers ended up with echo effect, boomy or tinny sound half way the other end of the room. I guess a pair of lab 5's or 9's would have been a solution....but not really within my budget just yet.

Radioshack is still around however I went to the website and found nothing. I even stopped into one of their stores near my house and the two people operating the store have never even seen a 2 pin din (had a pic on my phone). They directed me to Best Buy... (they have never even heard of B&O).

I probably have some if you want, will have a look around my stuff on the weekend.

Good (audio) electronics repair centers should be able to get some I suppose

It may be different in the States but over here, any good (and even most not so good...) electronic components store will have them.

Oh my thoughts will be prompt! As I said before the matter of cabling was sorted except for the aspect of where to get the little 2 pin din plugs. My dealer is closed (Again!), any suggestions on where to find them outside of ebay?

Just to be on the safe side, if I run both channels to a single Cona, it could handle the 110w?

I will not be connecting any other speakers to my Conas. I just wanted some more bass. You will all probably think im bass hungry when I tell you I already have a pair of BeoLab 5000 panels connected via powerlink.

Both a single cona and the beomaster will have no problem. Mine is doing just that for a couple of years now.

As I wrote before, position of the sub is key for best results.

Do not hesitate to try both cona's though for a short while and let us know what you think....

Cona's have simple crossovers, basically a couple of caps and a coil per side.

But if you do have the cabling or can build it - go ahead and try this and tell us how it worked! Just go easy on the volume; if you connect both Cona voice coils and a normal speaker on the same channel, the total load on the amp will probably be slightly more than with two pairs of normal speakers connected.

Does anybody actually know what the Cona crossover is like? Does it have more than coils in series with the driver, i.e does it cut any of the bass off of the speakers that are run through it?

The basic output goes to cona where the lows are filtered out and fed to the woofer, the rest being sent on the speakers.
The speakers give less bass because of that. Mostly low to midrange and high. Works well together though.
