They look great and are a real head turner when your friends come visit but as phone for day-to-day use they useless and not practable at all. Also are easily marked and scratched.

I've owned mine for 2yrs and I’m going to sell it soon, luckily I have 2 - Beocom 6000 which is an excellent phone. I would highly recommend you buy these, I’ve also owned a Beocom 4 which are fantastic but you can’t link more than one phone which for me is a big disadvantage!!

I am using my BeoCom 4 for all VOIP calls, because my Internet provider's modem/router has a conventional PSTN input. So the setup is dead easy.Whether it can work on other standards, I don't know.

The interaction you're talking about is volume control on all B&O audio & video products, you can reduce or increase the volume of your system whether you want the friends calling you to hear your music or not. On the new BeoCom 5, you can even set up the phone to mute the sound or picture!

Beocom 2 & SIP VOIP...

Hi,

I'm really getting hooked on all this B&O stuff now - it only started with a book on comtempary design which I was reading (actually scanning pics) which showed some of the Beolab 6000 speakers.

Now, I found the Beocom 2 - what an awesome looking phone! Whether it's worth £350 (ebay) is moot, but they we always buy with the heart and backfill with logic, so here goes...

I currently have a very ugly Cisco VOIP phone though it does work very well. I'm wondering if anyone has managed to get the Beocom 2 working within a VOIP network?

1. Are there any direct SIP to DECT base units?

2. Has anyone had any success with using a SIP to PSTN bridge?

I'm just wondering whether functionality like caller id etc would be supported with so many links?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Tom.

ps. I read that it can control other B&O products. How does it do this ? With IR?
