If you bought bv7-40 year 06 it´s not support 1080p at all, only the newer model MKIII and MKIV does that, and it´s possible

that it not hd ready either (you can see in conection menu if you can chose dvi in the HDTV line)

the cable to use if it's hd ready is HDMI - DVI, and for sound you connect optical spdif digital from ps3 to a converter to coaxial in the

tv set or use analog cable

Regards

Tompa

B & O Beovision7 and a playstation3

Hello everyone,

So i got a beovision 7 40". bougth it in '06. (If the features of the system changes over the years...)

I got a beolab 7-4 connected to it (surround system)

Now, I recently bought a Ps3 and i'm currently playing on it with a Scart cable.
Meaning i don't play at such a high quality.

So i now want to buy a hdmi-cable, And here is my question about.

Can i connect a normal hdmi-cable to it? http://nl.playstation.com/ps3/hardware/accessories/detail/item49441/HDMI-kabel-%283-meter%29/

or do i need to connect such a component cable? http://nl.playstation.com/ps3/hardware/accessories/detail/item49429/Component-AV-kabel/

I want to play in a 1080p (highest one at this tv?)
Now i recently found out that this component cable doesn't support 1080p, but on the official site it says it does,
so can i connect the normal hdmi-cable to this???
And if i cannot play it with the normal hdmi-cable, and i need to use the component cable, Can i use the light-cable for the sound? (Or what is that other plug at the back of a ps3?)

I've searched the internet to find it, but i did not found it...

ps: If im not allowed to post links, Im sorry for this then!

thank you very much, Alain V.
