The cables have been concealed behind a plasterboard panel standing just proud of the wall. You will be surprised at how much space all the cabling takes up (in my case with STB and Freeview scarts its a bit of a squeeze within the bracket.)

The great advantage of the wall bracket is that you have no stand from which the TV can easily be knocked if you have limited bedroom space with the usual narrow strip to walk between the bed walls and units. In a larger room a table top stand on a unit would be OK. One minor disadvantage of the wall bracket is that the motorised TV can only move to a fixed set angle each side of the wall parallel position, whereas a free standing table stand might be better suited to a TV near a room corner i.e. you have more freedom to set the TV range of movement with the base than with the wall bracket.

At up to 3m viewing distance the 25" screen is fine, even with a letterbox format film.

Have a 4002 in the bedroom on a motor wall bracket - (held up by rawlplugs on a french terracotte block wall not the best for supporting weighty stuff0) - viewing distance about 4 metres text readable as are subtitles

See another thread later today re an adaptation / mod to the wall mount to carry a shelf under it on which i have a sky box for english language progs - as may be apparent above, the installation is in france!

Yeah thats the one. He seems like a nice chap I was tempted to buy it and swap my beovision 1 in case i ever change the avant dvd, but without masterlink its not much use to me. They are great sounding tv's.

Hi Nick,

Are you talking about the green colour one in Norfolk (on ebay)?

If so, I have spotted it - but the base looks quite badly scratched (particularly at the front) and he is in Norfolk which is a bit far to travel (from Manchester) for something of this value. this one has been listed before - i think with more pictures than it has now & I wasnt too impressed with the look of it (close ups of the base). It's also an early model I think as it comes with the Beo1 remote - dont particularly want that.

If it's not this one - please let me have the item number.

It is a big set, even in 28" form. It is widescreen though. Of course the LX has a taller screen - in fact it is taller than the BV3 32" model. The last ones have good tubes and are easy to get serviced.

If the MX6000 was too big, then the BV3 will certainly be worse. I would go for the BV/C1 with a table stand.

Re: A bedroom TV - upto 28" max - any recommendations??

Evening guys, thanks for the replies so far fellas...

All interesting points made..

Peter, would you really consider an LX6000 over a BV3 28"?...considering the 'age difference' issue..?

I actually already have a tiny MX1500 in the room - but I think my eyes are going!! i cant see the bloomin txt anymore! Hence I need to move up in screen size a notch or two - but not beyond 28" as the room is really quite small.

I have also had (and given away to family!) MX6000's before and tbh thats a bit large for the room actually - hence the MX4000 option...

I take the point guys about the good performance of the Beocenter 1's - tempting....- but then again what about a BV3 (28) which may only be 5 or 6 yrs old??? hmmm choices, choices

regards

Re: A bedroom TV - upto 28" max - any recommendations??

I to have beocentre 1 and love it! A BV1 will require the table stand which adds height.

However, if most of what you watch is already in 16:9 format, the useful image size on a smaller MX will not be very big. It might be unpractical if you have a big bedroom - in my experience, a 21" MX is good for something like 2-3 meters viewing distance, not really more than that. BV3 with its 16:9 screen would have a lot of advantage here.

The MX will obviously be quite a bit cheaper and more easily available than the others. Perhaps you could just get one and see how you get along with it.

A bedroom TV - upto 28" max - any recommendations??

Hello Chaps/Chapettes,
