The BV7 allows for different settings to describe where each sub is but we only have one so have not been able to try it. When I choose Beolab 2 the grayed out Beolab 2 also appears. I can then set each sub to front, rear, left, right

Re: BS 3 Adding second BL2

Emmanuel92:

On the BS3 simply use the 2 existing SUB outputs.

That would be an easy solution but my BS3 has only one SUB output. The outputs are Centre and 6 outputs out of which the first is a dedicated SUB output, printed 1(SUB). The rest 2-6 are all occupied for the rest 6 speakers, to more daisy chain those to vacant an powerlink output is not practically feasible.

Struer - how can you honestly call this a 7.2 system if you need a Y-splitter for the Subs?

Re: BS 3 Adding second BL2

I have a Y-splitter to connect my 2 Lab 2s on my BV8-40, that works fine. So there are 2 powerlink output on the BL2 in order to connect the bl2 to the Beosound (via BL2 powerlink input), and each beolab to one powerlink output. You can also connect the 2 beolabs with only one powerlink output of the bl2, using a Y cable or daisy chaining the beolabs.

Now for your setup : Normally yes, a powerlink Y-splitter should solve the case... But I'm not sure, I never set up a B&O system in 7.2... The two subs signals should be send on the unique sub output of the beosystem3.

Re: BS 3 Adding second BL2

Thanks,

Interesting, sounds like a logical explanation. One thing I do not understand is that what is the purpose of the two powerlink outputs in the BL2. Would a powerlink Y-splitter solve the case?

Re: BS 3 Adding second BL2

Bl2 output are filtered so that only higher frequencies (the frequencies that are not emitted by the BL2) pass through... So daisy chaining Beolab 2 is not possible!

BS 3 Adding second BL2

Hi,

I try to add a second BL2 to my existing BeoSystem 3 7.1 setup to make it a full 7.2. The first BL2 is connected to the Subwoofer socket and the second daisy chained from the first one. Both Beolabs power on - light goes green. The problem is that the sound is very weak from the second BL. With full power the main element of the first bl moves almost an inch and same element in the second one very little. Both speakers are ok - that has been tested.

The second Beolab 2 line is gray in the menu Sound Setup/Speaker types and can not be modified. Roles are assigned as Subwoofer and Subwoofer. Sw version is 5.02.

Any advice?

.
