Yes, it is difficult to find a suitable stand for the 6000 and 8000 systems, so that is why I decided to construct one myself. I had one of the local metalworkers build the frame out of 25mm square steel section to the dimensions that I specified. It had an internal width of 154cm which made it large enough to take the three units in the 6000 system. I primed the steel and painted it in a gloss black lacquer. The back panels and shelves were cut to size from a 15mm cream laminate and it is very simple to assemble and take apart. It certainly does the job and it easily carries all of the weight. Luckily, I had made the top shelf slightly longer than the others and it is just able to take the longer length of my latest 8000 system. When we moved house, the whole unit just fitted in one of the recesses that you see in the photo. Obviously our new home was built with B&O in mind.

Most of the music that I play on these systems comes from the CD’s that I have stored on a computer in WAV format. This gives me the best reproduction that I can get. I have a beoport connected to the computer and a ML cable to the beolink wireless transmitter. The beolink wireless receiver is located close to the BM8000 and I made up a special coax cable to take the two channels on the powerlink DIN to the Tape 2 input DIN. To activate the NMusic or NRadio, I have to use the Beo4 remote and to switch on the BM8000 or 6000, I still have to use the old terminal. So I have been forced to use two remotes but I get a far better selection of music on these fabulous old units. Sometimes I connect the wireless receiver to the BC9300 and in that case, the ATAPE2 command on the Beo4 is able to startup the NMusic on Beoport and the 9300 at the same time.

How do you get to take N music?

What kind of stand is that? I mean brand and size?

I also have the 6000 and 8000 systems. A stand for the 8000 is a bit hard to solve.

Being 'Old fashioned', I notice that on many occasions, help & advice is freely given by talented, friendly, BeoWorlders but, thanks, for the help, is not so frequent. This 'Wizard of Oz' shows exactly how it should be done & is a fine example to us all. So, in future, if people take time & trouble to help You then reciprocate by taking time to acknowledge their generosity.

Hi Everyone

I want to report that this week, I have officially completed all of my repair work to the various items in the enclosed picture. I now have a fully functioning 8000 and 6000 system, which by my standards works perfectly. Everything looks good and sounds great through the Beovox Pentas and M150’s. They even work wirelessly with NMusic and NRadio. Success has come at long last and I just had to rave about it. These old parts seem to tire very quickly and no doubt in a few weeks time some other gremlin will creep in and spoil the show. I have waited a very long time to be a proud owner of something that I could only salivate and dream about in my youth.

My thanks go out to everyone at BeoWorld who has helped me with this mammoth project. It hasn’t been easy because I am a self-taught technician who has had to learn everything as I go along. My special thanks to Dillen for his sound advice and numerous spare parts. Many people have contributed with gems that have fixed the unfixable. The item on the display LED repairs was a classic example of what can be done when several people put their minds to it. There is a great team of dedicated B&O people out there.

Once again, my thanks to everyone at BeoWorld, I will now put my feet up and listen to the music.
