This issue has been seen so many times with every tv/radio digitalization step, who's gonna market receivers if there are no transmissions, and vice versa...

I'm confident they can bring the receiver module out. Just a heads up to the consumer - most likely you will not be able to receive terrestrial HD broadcasts with any current receiver without hardware updates. B&O is pretty clever keeping the receiver modular!
Mika, I use "C", Cable from Welho. However in the future satellite or air transmissions are a likely source for me...

When it comes to satellite, you're off to get a separate STB anyway... in cable, I suppose this DVB-HD module should work just fine. I just read the user manual Peter has put on site and it seems to have a built-in CONAX module, so that will be fine for both T and C pay-tv in Finland as well.

What still remains open is the DVB-T2 capability. I don't think it is there, as it is not mentioned anywhere, and that would put B&O at the forefront of technology since nobody else has it either From current knowledge, two terrestrial HD licences have been admitted in Finland (both to DNA) and the requirements specifically mandate that DVB-T2 should be used. Don't expect any regular transmissions in at least a year, though.

Re: BEOVISION 10

Mika, I use "C", Cable from Welho.
Here in Germany the DVB-C/T-Module is an option. So I believe it will work fine, otherwise this option wouldn´t make any sense.

Yes of course, I forgot to stress that this -T2 issue affects only future HD broadcasts over the air. The existing T/C tuner should be just fine for current SD transmissions, as well as existing HD services on cable.

There will be a more bandwidth-effective HD version even for cable, DVB-C2 - but it's not even fully specified yet, let alone that you could have receivers supporting it.

Re: BEOVISION 10

Hello!

Here in Germany the DVB-C/T-Module is an option. So I believe it will work fine, otherwise this option wouldn´t make any sense.

Tomorrow I will contact my dealer to order this great new TV for replacing my AVANT, but only if DVB-C is working as I expect!

I want to insert the smart-card from my cable-providor (Unitymedia) in an Alphacrypt-Module (Mascom) and insert this module into the slot of the BV 10. I did the same a fiew month ago with the new Technisat-TV from my mother-in-law and it works fine! I don´t want to buy an additional set-top-box, this would be a knock-out-criterion for the BV 10!

I have heard this procedure does not work with the BV 8-40, my dealer told me there will be an update to come soon. I can´t believe it will be the same with the brand new BV 10.

Has anybody additional information in this matter?

Best regards

Räuber

OK, so that is good, hopefully it would have a T/C DVB module over here in Finland, without any extra cost... AR coating is a must.

Forget about terrestrial HD, though. Everybody and his brother is now selling these "HD capable" DVB-T TVs in Finland, but nobody tells you that once the real broadcasts begin, they will use DVB-T2 modulation due to bandwidth constraints. The TVs may have the MPEG-4 decoder required to decode the broadcasts, but that bitstream won't be coming through the -T tuner! I don't think there are any TVs on the market now that will eventually work without - you guessed it - a HD set top box... I believe UK and many other countries are going to -T2 as well, with some countries skipping DVB-T completely.

-C should be fine for HD though, and usable right now.

Re: BEOVISION 10

Peter :
