It used to be, but now you can use a FM sender to listen to your iPod on the car stereo. So I think they have changed that law a little bit. At least in Sweden, but I guess it's the same in Denmark.

I believe it is EU-wide. However, the maximum allowed transmitting power is very small, so the useable range is not much more than some meters... and most of them sound like crap anyway

Re: Beo4+ - A new generation......

Electrified:

I assume you're danish? If so, transmitting on the FM band is illegal. Also, I hope you live in a house so your neighbours don't get bad FM reception whenever you fiddle your remote.

With that said, I have to say I find your entire project rather innovative and big kudos to you for taking it on :)

Then you can use it as a mouse in windows!!

This idea is much better than wee, with wee, you have to point to the screen. And the swíng function, I dont care.

I also have a lot of other shortcuts, with the 4. button..

I work with FM, so the range is about 30 meter.

I changed the remote, with only 2 batteries, it worked on 3v.. The gyration module runs 1,5V

The keypad is from Beo4, removed the colors. But a keypad from Beo1 would be better..

Then I can use it with window media center, and with Lintronic, i can remote non beo..

Re: Beo4+ - A new generation......

madslp:

Haha, that figures. IMO, you should have chosen Wii's gyration instead. That way you'd be able to swing it as a bat.

Seriously, is it an iPod/MBP remote? I really think you should come clean now!

Very small - especially without the battery and casing, and if I recall, it has the same number of buttons as that thingy (five).

Do you turn it 180 degress to use the added buttons, or have you routed it to the top?
