Thanks for the advice. I did search other posts, and got quite a bit of information. So I looked closer at my BC9000, and noticed it was making a faint rubbing noise when the CD played. Like plastic on plastic. I opened it up again, and found the black plastic piece that opens with the "lid" and attaches below the CD door was not alligned quite right. The similar piece on the tape side is firmly attached, but the one on the CD side slides right and left a bit. I also noticed the plastic cover over the CD mechanism itself didn't seem to be alligned correctly. After adjusting these two and closing it up, it now plays from beginning to end with no problem. Phew! I had originally opend it up to change the belts on the doors. I guess I moved things around a bit while I was in there.

I suspect its the CD mech, which is not cheap to replace ($400 us). I hope yours is a more simple fix.

Hi - my BC9000 has decided it doesn't like playing entire CD's. It will play about 50-70% of the disc then start skipping on the track it's on. Especially CD-R's, but some purchased CD's as well. Is this something common? My BC9500 plays both just fine. Any fixes?
