We've waited for such a long time, I suppose next spring isn't too far away...perhaps we could have a 'bridging' event in the meantime?

Well.....

I have recently been involved with the renovation of one of Manchesters "legendary" music venue's - the Band on The Wall.

Having spent many a happy evening there before it closed, when the chance came a while ago to have some input into its relaunch, I jumped in. As a result, an adjacent building, renamed The PictureHouse, is now the proud user of two pairs of BeoLab 4000's and three BeoVision 7's.

This building has multiple uses - part box office, part arts centre and educational resource, and part pre/post-gig bar. The BeoVisions are being used to show archived footage from gigs held in the adjacent venue - as well as listing information etc. The relaunch gig was last Friday - Mica Paris was the main act, and she was excellent (she also owns a set of Pentalabs, apparently!)

Anyway...the reason I mention this is that as part of our "arrangement", King Street has the opportunity to use this space for events - so perhaps a speaker comparison event would be suitable. Its a big enough room to seat well over 100 people, with room to spare, and it already has a headstart - with a Bsnd 4 driving 2 pairs of Beolab 4000's.

However, event no 1 will (probably) be a BeoVision 10 Launch - but I'll have a think - it might be a plan for spring 2010.

The Band on the Wall really is a splendid venue - now fully restored and with an excellent line up over the coming few months.

Its run by a charity called Inner City Music - and the building has been remodelled to accomodate Education Rooms for community use, as well as having links to 15 local schools - if your able to visit, its worthwhile both for the music and the fact it is run for the right reasons - highly recomended

If fact, in about a month the first of an ongoing series of "Bang & Olufsen of King Street presents..." gigs is on Nov 27th...details here

I'd love to do this again, as I wasn't present in Newcastle 2+ years ago for this. Would be great to hear everything together in one room - maybe as part of the much mooted, but never initiated, northern Beoworld meet???

Hi there

Some time ago, I read a test of speakers at beoworld. I think it was about when Beolab 9 was released. Several models were tested. I think that Peter was involved, maybe as a tester. I can not find a link to this thread. Where is it? Does anybody know? I tried to PM Peter, but did not know how to do that either, so I decided to ask in this thread.
