Its just the same as with all the remotes.

It only changes option settings if one instructs the remote to do so. To change the option settings with a Beo5 hold the ST.by button and press GO; choose "Option Pgm" and choose the room/zone (if more are set in the Beo5); watch the IR go OFF/ON; all is set. Note: the BS4 & the BV8 must be in STANDBY position when doing this and they must be able to receive the IR instruction of the Beo5!

After this, the settings chosen at the configuration of the Beo5, is programmed in the BV8 and the BS4.

So because of a momentary 2-0 programming of the BV8-BS4 all the sound goes through the tv.

So program the Beo5 for the 1-1 configuration and program the options of the BV8/BS4; ALL should be set.

Yes.

I`m not sure, but I think it will be sent after you have sent the config. to Beo5. I do all the programming/configuring with myBeo4.

Try that once more and keep your Beos in standby - for option setting they must be in standby mode, and the Stdby LED will flash when receiving a new option.

I`m not at home, so I have no Beo5 right now. But check the service menu on Beo5: STDBY + GO (Setup) - 0 - 0 - GO.

It sounds like the Beo5 sending the option settings to the Beo devices could be my problem. When does the Beo5 actually "send" these settings? So far I just uploaded the config to the Beo5 and then switched on the TV or stereo. No idea if and when the option settings were transmitted. So I have the faint feeling that my 1-1 configuration was never sent to the devices in the first place...

Do I have to "tell" the Beo5 to send the option settings to the devices? Or can I somehow set the devices to opt 1-1 manually?

I don't quite understandwhat you mean by this... yes, V. and A. options are now set to 1-1.

As far as I know the Beo5 sends option settings to your Beo devices after the configuration was sent from your PC to the Beo5 (but I`m sure Keith can tell more about that). My idea: Let your system in 1-1 setup, do the 2-0 configuration, as you did before, and disconnect your BS4 and BV8 from the mains when the configuration is sent to the Beo5, so your system can`t "see" the Beo5 and won`t change the option settings.

Ok, so this is no option.

I tried both the 1-1 and the 2-0 setup, but with the same result: the radio uses the TV speakers, not the ones that are connected to it.

I also tried to create two zones - one for video and one for audio, but still the same problem.

The audio devices (RADIO, CD, N.MUSIC....) must be controled in RADIO mode AND your BS4 must be in A.OPT 1 if you want to activate it directly.

If your audio devices are controled in TV mode, as you described, they will activate the Beovision.

If your audio devices are controled in RADIO mode and your BS4 has A.OPT 0 they will also be controled via your Beovision.

I hope I could clarify this a bit...(?)

Are the switches on the back of the BeoLab4000's set to left and right? If they are set to line, they won't detect the switch on signal via the Powerlink cable.

That`s what I thought of. And sorry, of course you can`t disconnect the Masterlink in the config.tool.

But you could create two zones, a "video-zone" and an "audio-zone". Or do the 2 - 0 setup and change the options manullay with a Beo4/BL1000.

Or change the configuration to 2-0 and don`t let the Beo5 change the options. I assume V.- and A. options are now 1-1.

I just checked the IR codes in the "view" tab.

When I do a 1-1 setup, the IR code for the radio is 0:000:TV:RADIO which suggests that the signal goes via the BV8. When I do a 2-0 setup, however, the code is 0:000:RADIO:RADIO, but nevertheless the same thing happens: the green TV light comes on, the radio switches on and then uses the BV8's speakers only. The BL4000's do not come on at all.

Can anyone help?

Yes the config software did initially set the products to opt 2 and opt 0, but I changed them both to opt 1. I just checked in the config software, and they are still set to 1-1.

When you configured the Beo5, it may have automatically set the products to opt 2 for the TV and opt 0 for the audio. If you unplug the ML cable and then can't switch on the Bsnd4 that would confirm this to be the case.

Go back to your configuration on the Beo5. If you hoover over the products in the "choose products" tab one at a time it will show you which option programme they are set to. If it's 2 - 0, you can amend it to 1 - 1.

1 - No. The TV standby button turns green but nothing else happens.

2 - This is not possible as the BV and the BS are in the same room - in the config tool you can only disconnect masterlink connections between rooms.

As the BS4 does not respond when I unplug the ML cable, but the BV, it seems to me as if it was receiving the IR commend for both units - like in the 2-0 scenario. But I have them set to 1-1. Why do they still react as if they were set to 2-0?

1- Disconnect the Masterlink cable from your BS4 and activate RADIO or CD. Does it work?

2- Disconnect the masterlink connection in the config. tool.
