I have a copy of the installation instructions which B&O forgot to take with them when they fitted one to my Avant. I am not sure if its still on the manual page of this site, but if you like I can mail it to you if you like.

Christian,

There are a copy of different Dolby modules that will fit the avant.

The early Pro-Logic version - 4 Powerlinks, no Sub.

The early Dolby module with 4 Powerlinks and a Sub with 2 Digital Coax as well.

The later Dolby module with 2 Powerlinks (for daisy changing) and a Sub with 2 Digital Coax as well.

It's a 10 minute job if you get the right one for the modle of TV. I'm guessing either of the later Dolby ones will work.

I think I may have a 'spare' one of these somewhere.

Yes I thought it was standard too on all DVD models, but then I saw a picture of this particular avant and nothing there.

The first models 28" RF did not have this module fitted, it was an option! Later it became standard.

The 32" did have it standard from the first

Answer to your question, No it is not difficult if you know what to do. Try to get a fitting manual. Main thing is connecting a few flat cables, color coded so you can't miss it.

Strange! In my opinion all Avants with DVD had a surround module installed and for sure the Avant RF 28 did.

So this Avant doesn't have Powerlink connections?

Well, the subject really says it all. I am looking at a used Avant RF 28 with DVD for around 430 pounds sterling, but unfortunately it does not have the optional surroundsound card build in. Is it difficult to retrofit and is it obtainable at all?
