Your signal from the ipod is then transmittet to the radio in the 1600 as if it was just a normal radio station (DR P3 or like)

Hi there

You cannot connect the ipod to the phono input. The Beocenter has a RIAA amp on the phono input that amplifies the skewed signal from a pick up, so no luck there. I cannot see why the tape input has the windy noise, aparently it is faulty, sorry. You do not need to disconnect the internal tape player. Perhaps you should try another DIN to RCA converter to see if the fault lies there, but it probably does not.

I have used a small FM transmitter to get sound from my laptop to the radio in a Beocenter 1600 it worked just fine. Perhaps you should try that?

I recently got an old beocenter 1600 receiver.

I have two things I would like to connect to this. One is a grammophone player and the other is my ipod. Now the 1600 have two outputs/inputs on the back. One that says phono and one that says tape. I have connected my grammophone/turntable to the phono using a 5p DIN that connects to the red and white phono cabel. That works fine.

I then have tried to connect the ipod to the tape input/output on the 1600 using again a 5p DIN with four RCA she to connect to the red and white phono cabel that has a jackstick in the other end which goes to the ipod.

The problem is that when playing the ipod the sound is very low and there is a windy noise in the speakers that sometimes decreases in volume and other times increases in volume.

The phono works without any problems. The problems is with the tape output/input that connects to the ipod. What can I do with this problem???

In the 1600 there is an integrated taperecorder. The tape on the back is for a second taperecorder (originally). Should I somehow disconnect the integrated one in order to make it work?

I have been warned in putting the ipod constellation in the phono input/output because it is too sensitive. I however briefly tried and the problems had disappeared. So the problem seems to be located with the tape. Is it a problem to connect the ipod to the phono on the back or have I been misinformed.
