Or even more pertinently why they couldn't sell them towards the end of the production run, so had to resort to heavy discounting!!

I like Mika's selection and I like Milton's idea for some diversity!

Hi Jeff,

Totally agree on everything in your selection ... imo some of the best examples of fabulous design with matching performance.
Especially the BL7000 .. for me still a marvel of technology and design to this day.

Would love to have some Lab Mondrians myself, but I just don't have the wall space for them (yet......)

If I were there, I would like to see the Beomaster 8000 as it is the king of B&O amps :)

He has chosen the following, as they appear in the pre-prepared talk:

Beomaster 900K

Beolab 5000 system (Beolab, Beomaster & Beogram 3000 + Beovox 2500s) (The Beovox 5000s are just too big!)

Beogram 4000

I may take a Beomaster 2400 along just because it, as a representative of the 1900, was also a very important piece.

Peter, I think that any vintage B&O will be good as it is all remarkable for the most part.

I do agree with Milton on how there should be a representation of all the product lines (phone, remote, receiver, cd, etc.). The speakers however will still be a difficult choice as there are so many, and it will be hard to represent with only one or two pairs.

I'd still like a phone, such as the BeoCom 750 or BeoCom 1000.

Speakers I'd of course say the BeoVox 2500 or (and) the BeoVox 5000, as they represent the novelty of B&O at the time.

Television I'd still say the same.

As for system, I don't really like the early 80's stuff; I much prefer the BeoMaster 2000/6000 or maybe the 4000.

The Grand Prix 610 is a nice old radio!

I wish my dealer would take such an initiative.

I guess I'd go for something typical of the decades and the general technological developments in the world. Thus, I'd like to see:

BeoCom2 representing the phones
a remote control (I'd personally like the Video commander for nostalgic reasons)
the BeoLab 1 as their active speakers (still one of their most beautiful speakers ever made),
either the old BeoVision 601 or (again nostalgia) the BeoVision 8800 and lastly
BeoCenter - either the beautiful 9000-series (9000, 9300 or 9500) or the most modern BeoCenter 2.

Don't know how far the later end of the display should reach, but these are probably a must:

Beomaster 900K of course!
Beogram 4000 (or any of the series, they will look pretty much the same for a vintage heathen) - or Beomaster 6000 + Beogram 6000!
A nice Beolit, probably one of the colouradios, or two in different colours
Beocenter 7700

Can't really choose on the speakers. I believe the later Uniphase series with their double frets would look the best for an uneducated viewer.

Beomaster 1900 series is of course an iconic product, but I have to say it doesn't do much to me visually, personal preferences I guess...

What would you like to see?

My local dealer has arranged for the MD of Bang & Olufsen UK, Lars Flyvholm, to give a presentation on the history and future of B&O. I have offered to lend them some pieces to show some of the history of the brand and have quite a few pieces dating from the Beomaster 900 onwards. this is the era when B&O became an international rather than domestic company.

If you were going to such an event, what 4 or 5 pieces would you like to see (speakers count as one but, remember, the dealer will not want his showroom full of huge lumps of wood! This will be a static display.
