I also went through the same decision making process about 18 months ago.

I had B&O come to my house with Beolab 8000's and Beolab 2 combo as well as Beolab 9's.

For us the priority was music- so the 9's win hands down. The 8000's + 2 just didn't seem to be well integrated. You can hear you are listening to speakers and a sub woofer. To my hear it sounded a little odd.

We listen to music on a daily basis, so the fidelity of the music was the deciding factor.

A Beolab 2 might give more rumble... but I'd also state I have no complaints about my Beolab 9's for movies. Infact in my house i often have to turn the bass right down as i have wooden floors so it can get really 'boomy'. A beolab 2 would annoy the hell out of neighbours!!!!!! (as do the 9's when I turn them up!)

How often do you watch films vs listen to music? (that might help you decide)

hi there

i had this dilema a few months back and had a listen to the Lab9's in the local shop.

the lab 9's are perfect for Music i actually love them but film seems to lack the rumble of the lab 2 when cars crash etc

i decided to keep my lab 8000's and lab2 in the end

the lab 9's dont hit the lower frequency as the lab 2 does

soon there is a new Sub on the way apparently

I am thinking to sell my 2xBL8000+BL2 combination and replace it with two BL9. Can somebody tell me if this would be a big sound improvement. I would connect BL9 directly to BV7 32'' as well as BS9000 via ML.
