I was aware that they clip on and off but it is definitely not the clip that has come off, it is a little strip of metal that has come 'unstuck' from the glass. In fact, I can see the remnants of old glue, either the original stuff or something someone has put on in the past (it is an oldish, second hand unit).

Cheers all - lesson learnt: move it out of toddler reach...!

The glue deteriorates with age.

You will find, on inspection, that the other three are beginning to lift also.

It is impossible to achieve the original factory finish, in particular, the black patch of paint will never look the same.

I have used two part epoxy such as Araldite with some success although the only proper solution is new doors @ around £40 each.

Re: Ouverture and glue..

I dread the thought of having children around my B&O

Re: Ouverture and glue..

No dont do it!!

I had a beosystem 2500 which was the predesessor to the ouverture - the glass doors are supposed to be removeable.

They will simply clip back into place in the metal bracket.

This is assuming the ouverture assembly was the same as mine.

My toddler has managed to dislodge the glass screen on my ouverture from the metal sliding bracket behind it. Bless the kids... Looks like a straightforward case of gluing the glass back onto the small bracket (it is just the bit at the bottom that has come loose).

I was proposing just to use some super glue. Anyone done this before or thinks something other than superglue is better?

Bit random I know. Really appreciate any info.

Cheers
