I guess my track record of repairing items speaks for itself (or shouts according to my better half).

The 7000 tend to go around € 400 - 500 these days, which is still quite steep, as I don't need a telly that size. I just want it since it's a B&O.

If you think you can repair it yourself, it maybe is worth it... otherwise you will have a 42 kg doorstop and a general problem - I guess the previous owner has already decided it's not worth paying a shop to fix it? Featurewise it is a little limited and the chassis isn't "proper" B&O anyway. If you just need a TV of that genre I'd rather look for a ten years newer 6000/7000, those can't be worth much over there either.

On the other hand, if the remote is included, you could of course tip the telly and keep the Beolink. After waiting for a while if some local Beoworlder would be interested in taking the TV for parts. I guess the rear cover and contrast screen at least would be useful in later sets as well?

Hi guys,

Have just been offered to pick a Beovision MX 5000 with a new picture tube, but the set is dead - for free. Is it worth the problem, i.e. is the MX5000 a set worth salvaging?

(Free is never free u know...)
