You only have to check if the touchpanel is good connected.

Every beomaster/center/sound has a pre-amplifier output. The powerlinkconnection is pre-amp. I connected for a while my Beomaster with Rotel amplifiers. Making the cable is very simple. 5 pin din to 2 cinch.

Re: Beomaster WIth Preamp output

The 5500 does as well but not the outputs marked pre-amp!! These will work but actually go through the power amp and then a very big resistor! The sockets joined by the metal hoops are proper pre-amp outputs - I loop these through my headphone amplifier. Disonnecting them will stop the power amplifier working unless you can loop back. The fault the 5500 has is the mute relay which affects Speaker 1 - usually one channel. A cheap fix. The 5500 has the advantage of lots of connections, like the 5000, but also works with a Beolink 1000/Beo4/Beo5 etc which the 5000 will not.

Re: Beomaster WIth Preamp output

Beomaster 5000

It is the Master Control Panel that seems to have the most reliability issues and for which there are now no spares, but depending upon what you want that may not be an issue

Also see the terminal 5000

I was wondering if someone can tell me which beomaster has preamp output. Second question is, which beomaster is the most reliable, meaning which one gets to repair shop the least or hardly seen by a tech.
