I know that auto-contrast is an issue, but todays beovisions 4 have auto calibration features with a sensor which slides down from the beovision 4 frame, so this might be the reason why the auto contrast does not work.

I think there are a few people on this forums, who have PF10s or PF9s with RS232 and latest BS3 software were on/off works.

Re: beosystem 3 and 63" Samsung

I am not sure about the th58pf11ek as B&O does not have a 58" inch their own line-up (or so I recall), but the TH50PF11 or the TH65PF10ek will work fine. In that case you just select the Beovision 4 50" or 65" in the BS3 monitor menu.

Re: beosystem 3 and 63" Samsung

chrisped:

Use a Panasonic TH50PF11 or the new PF12 that arrives this autumn. It also comes in a 65" version but it's expensive. These are the panels, which B&O uses in their Beovision 4 line. With an RS232 cable from the BS3 to the panny you will get full control over on/off.

I have a Panasonic TH-37PH10UK which lost its ability to be RS232-controlled when BeoSystem 3's SW 4.17 came out. I now have SW 5.?? and I still have to use IR control to turn the screen on and off. Even when RS232 did work, the auto-contract feature didn't work.

Thanks for reply, The customer would like something now, The issue has been resolved by resetting bs3 to default, the only problem is he now has a slight shimmer on the picture, I did notice in bs3 settings there is an option for 60hz?? I dont want to try this as his samsung is now working. the ones we are looking at are th58f11ek and th65pf10ek, do you know if they will work, and if I need to fit the dvi board?? Thanks in advance for your help

Products

Beosystem 3 Latest Software

Lab 9's Front

Non B/O Centre Speaker

B/lab 3's Rear

Besound 9000

I have a customer who has a beosystem 3, and a 63" samsung, the problem is the electrician switched of the power, after the the power was switched back on, the beosystem 3 is now switching it's self of every five minutes, the other thing I noticed is there there seems to be a slight shimmer to the picture, I presume this is because the tv is not compatable with the beosystem 3, thanfully the customer is understanding, my question if I where to use a Panasonic monitor panel, which one is the best one to use, and would give me complete control with the beo4, (exteral sensor fitted)

Regards
