You need an aerial. A ribbon aerial is what you used to have - an outdoor one would be better but more expensive.

2. Which remote do you have? There are manuals for the system on Beoworld but you need to be a silver or gold member.

Re: Beomaster 5500 and my ipod.

Thnks Peter. I Really appreciate it. While we're at it 2 more questions:

I would get an iPod dock and use that with a mini jack to twin RCA lead. If you get thye one from Ridax, it can be remote control. Or do it another way and attach your computer. That is what I do.

Re: Beomaster 5500 and my ipod.

Thank you.

I guess then i should take a picture of the inputs at the back of the Beo master and head over to the apple store and make sure the dock connector matches?

Either connect a dock to the tape or Aux inputs or, simpler still, connect the iPod headphone out to the tape or Aux inputs directly.
I can't recall the rear connection types on the BM5500 but I connect my iPod to my BM5000 via a 3.5mm stereo Jack to pair phono lead and it works fine!
Good luck

Beomaster 5500 and my ipod.

i've just set up my dad's old Beomaster 5500 along with Beogram 5000, Beogram CD 50 and Beocord 5500. I have 2 octagone shaped speakers with digital readouts.
