Simple go ahead and do it as normal but it will default to Option 0 if you turn the mains off and back on again.

The secret is to leave it in standby mode and it will remember it's option setting until you unplug it again.

Re: BS9000 remote control problem

Hi

The software in the BeoSound9000 automatically sets to option 0 (no IR commands) if there is no powerlink connection. If you want to use BeoSound 9000 by remote without a powerlink connection you cannot simply option proramme it to option 1 or option2, as it will not be accepted.

The easy solution is to plug in a powerlink cable having cut the cable and then short the yellow and earth together. That makes the BeoSound 9000 think that it has an active speaker connected and will then accept option 1.

Opman

Re: BS9000 remote control problem

Thanks Stefan, can't try right now but it seems very logical!

So the BS9000 senses the datalink on the BM6000 as a powerlink connection if I get it right?

Shame the two systems won't co-operate due to the difference in codes.

(EDIT) We checked it out, and indeed, it works! Thanks again!

Re: BS9000 remote control problem

Press SOUND - 1 - STORE on BL 1000. Now the BS9000 should receive IR again. You connected the BM6000 to powerlink sockets. Unplugging the powerlink lets the BS9000 switch to A.OPT 0 . Should be 1 or 2.

Hope this helps

Something strange is happening with my friend's BeoSound 9000: It will not recieve commands from the remote control (beolink 1000 and beo4 tried) when it is not connected to his Beomaster 6000. The connection is made with a B&O 8 pin DIN plug on the side of the BS9000, on the side of the BM6000 the middle pin is cut off (won't fit otherwise)

Why can this be, I am very puzzled!

Hope someone here can explain.
