Nothing wrong with the 28" at all. In some ways it may even have a better picture! I have the 32" and it is big when you first get it. Do remember that the 32" Avant screen is no higher than the screen on an LX6000 though.

So the 28 RF inch Avant chassis isn't related to the 28 inch BV3 chassis? Just seems that the 28 inch RF was in production for a relatively short time so I reasoned there might be some crossover between the two product lines.

I have a 28" Avant RF and the picture is really perfect. I think you refer to the difference of th BV3 28" chasis that is based on the BV1 while the chasis of the 32" BV3 is based on the Avant chasis.

well getting around to thinking about upgrading my early Avant. The 28 inch screen size is just fine for our small cottage and I've been looking at a few for sale via the internet. The question is whether the 28 inch real flat screen is equally as good a picture as the celebrated 32 inch. I remember on the old forum there were threads saying to avoid the 28 inch Beovision 3 as it had a much inferior picture to the 32 inch. Does this apply to the Avant, and indeed is the tube the same as the beovision 3 28?!!
