I have a Tvix 6500 connected via HDMI and composite to AV2 of my BV7-40 assigned to DVD2. I`m using a Gefen HDMI splitter and a Gefen HDMI - composite converter. Analogue signals (sound and picture) are connected via an RCA - SCART adapter to the AV3 SCART socket.

I also have a HD stb called Lyngbox via HDMI and SCART to my BV7. The Lyngbox is able to send digital and analogue signals simultanously. Beo has just made a Lyngbox PUC for me.

Both solutions are working great. I have digital sound/picture in the mainroom and simultanously analogue sound/picture in linkrooms. Everything in sync. Maybe another product called Cypress CM-388 is alsoworking. It`s a HDMI - composite converter that also converts digital to analogue sound. NOT tested...

Hope this helps

i'm going to allow myself a self-serving bump ...

the question of how to watch an hd source on one tv an distribute the same source in sd to other tvs deserves an answer. for me it's the whole goal of system intergration that b&o stands for ! i've asked myself this question for my stb and now i'm asking it again for an external blu-ray player.

please respond if you have any experience on this matter. i would also be interested if anyone in the paris area would like to conduct some experiments in this area.

i am looking into how to watch an hd source on a bv7-40 and distribute the same source in sd to a link room tv (not necessarily at the same time). my hd source is hdmi and i have found a variety of ways to have a hd and sd signal in parallel from the same source. i am now looking at precisely how this connects to the bv7-40.

the user reference manual states that it is possible to connect an hd and sd signal from the same source only to the av2 or av3 sockets. i find this curious and i am looking for more information.

i notive that av2 and av3 contain both a scart connection and composite hd (y pb pr) + spdif connections grouped together. is the bv7 somehow wired internally to manage these parallel sources or could i have my hd signal connected to a hdmi port and then assigned to av2 or av3 ?

and what is the role of the spdif precisely. if i transmit only digital audio will the bv7 be able to distribute it to link rooms with the sd signal or do i need to have the audio coming through on the scart ?

thanks for any and all help,
